West Africa Looks to Make Abortion Legal

Ministers from 15 West African countries are calling for the legalization of abortion.  The statement, submitted by the Health Ministers from the Economic Community of West African States said the member states could make abortion “safe” by legalization.  Their claim is that illegal abortions have contributed to high maternal mortality rates.  I suppose they’re not aware of the Montreal woman that nearly died after a botched abortion, the woman who was rushed to the hospital after an abortion and how a second abortion increases risk of premature birth by 93%.

Los Angeles Woman Shoots Sons, Killing One

The love of many has indeed waxed cold in these last days, just as the New Testament predicted some 2000 years ago. A woman in Los Angeles on Saturday shot her two sons, one five and the other one, killing the five-year-old and critically injuring the other. She called 9-1-1 around 8:30 a.m. local time and told the dispatcher that she had killed her children. When police arrived on the scene, they found the woman, who appeared to be in her mid-20’s, standing on a balcony waving a handgun. She yelled for police to shoot her and that she had “wasted her life.” Police eventually arrested the woman. The five-year-old boy was declared dead at the scene. The one-year-old suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was hospitalized in critical condition.

Montreal Woman Nearly Dies After Botched Abortion

Another week, another emergency following a botched abortion at a clinic. In Montreal, Canada, a 19-year-old woman almost died after having an abortion performed during the second trimester. The woman, who was three months’ pregnant, had an abortion conducted at 9:00 AM last Thursday, after which she experienced heavy bleeding but was sent home from the clinic anyway. Then she and her boyfriend drove to a hospital about 45 minutes away, where she received an emergency operation and a blood transfusion and was told by hospital staff that she may have died had she arrived five minutes later. Again, I thought the legalization of abortion was to prevent deaths from back alley abortions and for so-called “women’s rights”?

Somali Islamic Militant Kills Christian Over Bible Possession

In Somalia on Sunday, a woman leading an underground Christian movement was slain for possessing six Bibles. 46-year-old Mariam Muhina Hussein was killed by three gunshot wounds after it was discovered by an Islamic militant that she owned Bibles.

Pro-Life Advocate Attacked in Arizona

The anger and hatred being unleashed against peaceful advocates of life is growing in intensity. A 69-year-old man, Johnny Wallace, was allegedly attacked outside city hall in Flagstaff, Arizona, while carrying non-graphic signs protesting abortion on Saturday. Two 48-year-old woman appeared before Wallace when one began to yell profanities at him, tried to take and destroy his signs and eventually wrestled him to the ground, where the other woman joined in on the attack. The two women were arrested on misdemeanor charges and released. Wallace was treated for minor injuries.
