Could your child be tricked into giving away your Bibles? The Persecution Blog (link to full story below) has a powerful story that was communicated down from an elderly woman in North Korea. It’s a very sobering read that makes you ponder the God-less education system in place in America, and around the world, today.

What Will Be the Sign of Your Coming?

If I were to have a mission statement for Last Trumpet Living, it would be to put on display the many happenings on Earth that point to an imminent return of Jesus Christ to take home His believers in an event referred to by Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 – most commonly known as the rapture. I believe, based on the signs outlined by Jesus in Matthew 24, that time is very, very short. And if the mission statement had a first sentence, it would be something like this: Come to the Lord now. Time is almost up. In this week’s article, I want to explore the signs given to us by Jesus in Matthew 24 so that you better understand why I am so adamant about helping people see that we are indeed living in the last days.
Before I delve into the signs of the end of the age, I want to emphasize something: the rapture is imminent. It is a signless event that could happen at any moment and only God knows the day and the hour, but Christians can certainly discern the season How? In Matthew 24:33-34 (NKJV), Jesus tells us this: “So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near — at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.” Jesus is explaining that those who witness the signs foretold in Matthew 24 will not pass away until the end of the age. I believe we are that generation.
The apostles asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3 about the signs of His coming and the end of the age. Jesus responds to them in Matthew 24:4-14. Here is the list of signs that foretell of the return of Christ:
- False Christs
- Wars and rumors of wars
- Nation will rise against nation
- Kingdom will rise against kingdom
- Famines
- Pestilences
- Earthquakes in various places
- Christians hated and killed
- Many will be offended
- Many will betray one another
- False prophets will arise and deceive many
- Lawlessness will abound
- Love of many will grow cold
- The gospel will be preached to all nations
We see all of these things today:
- Many have already come proclaiming to be Jesus.
- Wars and rumors of wars are rampant on a global scale as are nations rising against nations and kingdoms rising against kingdoms.
- Famines destroy crops and deplete drinking water around the world.
- Outbreaks of pestilences have caused the sickness and death of many.
- Earthquakes have been occurring all over the globe.
- Christians are being killed for their beliefs in many countries around the globe.
- Political correctness has taken root because many are offended.
- Betrayal of others for personal gain is more and more common.
- False prophets are indeed on the rise, proclaiming false visions and doctrines that deceive many.
- Crime seems to go unchecked as cities fund entertainment and public transportation instead of law enforcement.
- Parents have killed their own children, which to me is a huge sign that the love of many has grown cold.
- Missionaries are spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world – North Korea, China, Central America and many parts of Africa have received the good news that Jesus is returning again.
My point is this: all of the signs foretold by Jesus as being indicative of His coming are all happening at once. What did Jesus tell us about seeing all of the signs outlined above? Again, let me reiterate that In Matthew 24:33-34 (NKJV), He told us this: “So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near — at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.” We see all of these signs today.
Time is drawing to a close. If you haven’t given your life over to Jesus, please do it now. He died for all of the sins of the world, and His free gift of salvation is available to all who ask. Believe in your heart that Christ died for your sins, was crucified, and rose again and say a prayer asking Him to come into your heart. If you’re sincere, you’ll be changed forever on the inside and desire to do the will of the Lord. Time is short. Please make every effort to turn your life over to Him today.
