Asteroid Explodes Over Indonesia

News reports have been slow to trickle in, but an asteroid exploded in the skies over Indonesia on October 8th at about 3:00 Greenwich mean time. The asteroid was thought to be about 10 kilometers in diameter and detonated in the atmosphere with the force of about 50 kilotons. There was no damage on the ground. An asteroid this size is expected to strike the earth, on average, every two to 12 years.

Attempted Muslim Honor Killing

I wonder why I haven’t heard about this on the news.  A Muslim man in Arizona is accused of hitting his daughter with a car because she “failed to live by traditional Muslim values.”  The victim, Noor Almaleki, was hit allegedly by her Muslim father, Faleh Hassan Almaleki, on October 20th along with her boyfriend’s mother.  She is in life-threatening condition with spinal injuries but is improving, according to police.  The father is still on the run.
