I knew this was coming. After Congressional approval of the hate crimes bill, which was packaged together with the 2010 fiscal year Defense Authorization Bill, President Barack Obama signed it into law. The law gives equal protection to homosexuals under the law — effectively putting them above the law by declaring them a special class of people — and makes it a crime to discriminate against them based on sexual identity and persuasion. While the bill did include a provision to prevent prosecution of individuals based on beliefs, many Christians are concerned the bill will silence Biblically-based messages.
California Now Recognized Out-of-State Same-Sex Marriages

Even after voters passed Proposition 8 last November, which forced the state of California to only recognize marriage between a man and a woman, Governor Schwarzenegger signed Senate Bill 54 into law earlier this week, allowing for the state to recognize out-of-state same-sex marriages. The new law will recognize same-sex marriages as legal “unions” which are afforded “the same respect and dignity accorded a union traditionally designated as marriage” and the “same rights, protections, and benefits, and shall be subject to the same responsibilities, obligations, and duties under law…with the sole exception of the designation of ‘marriage.’” The slippery slope on which California sits is only getting steeper and pointing away from God’s holy words.

Hate Crimes Bill in House Could Extend to Cover Homosexuality

Update: the hate crimes bill passed in the House. Now on to the Senate with the expectation that President Obama will sign it into law prior to his keynote address at the Human Rights Campaign dinner, a homosexual advocacy group.
The hate crimes bill currently being voted on in the U.S. House of Representatives has a particular nuance that disturbs some members of the GOP: its coverage is extended to protect sexual orientation. The law, first enacted after the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., would allow for federal prosecutors to intervene in cases of violence against homosexuals based on their sexual orientation. GOP members consider the religious protections afforded in the bill “flimsy,” and worry that pastors could be prosecuted if the content of their sermons could be tied back to an act of violence against a gay person.

Former Muslims Group Speaks Out on Eve of Islam March

A group of ex-Muslims have banded together and implored the Department of Justice to protect the rights and safety of ex-Muslims in America from the ravages of Sharia law. Sharia law requires that those who have left the Islam religion be executed. There have been several examples in the recent news of Muslim aggression. A Muslim man killed his wife, citing justification in the Koran. Military personnel were shot by a recent Muslim convert. Hindus were massacred by Muslims and a Dubai bank has forced non-Muslim women to wear shailahs and abayas. Oh, and don’t forget about the U.S. serviceman who was shot for drinking water during Ramadan.
Arizona Planned Parenthood Sues Over Abortion-Limiting Laws
As if there aren’t already too many abortions in this country, Planned Parenthood of Arizona has sued the Arizona state government seeking to overturn new laws recently signed by Governor Jan Brewer to reduce the number of abortions performed in the state by out-right banning of partial-birth abortions. A second bill signed into law prevents non-physicians from performing abortions. Planned Parenthood has challenged, claim the new law package “threatens women’s access to health care in Arizona.“

Dubai Bank Forces Non-Muslim Women to Wear Shailah and Abaya

Muslim law, better known as Sharia Law, is slowly invading and trumping existing constitutional law around the world. In Dubai, an already moderate Muslim state, the local Dubai Bank has declared itself an Islamic company and, beginning on Ramadan, all female employees, regardless of religion, will be forced to wear a shailah, or head covering, as well as an abaya (a black cloak covering the entire body). With the United States already bowing to Muslim culture by allowing for the advance of Islam in our schools and the installation of foot baths in airports, how long before we are subjected to Sharia? How much longer after that will Christians be forced to convert to Islam at the sharp end of a sword?
