Drought Hits Venezuela

Drought conditions in Venezuela have left reservoirs at critically-low levels, forcing the government to conduct rolling cuts to water service for periods of up to 48 hours, which will extend into the first quarter of 2010.  The water rationing began on Monday and its effects will not only be felt in households, but in schools as well.  In fact, the only places guaranteed around-the-clock water are hospitals.  The Venezuelan government blames weather patterns for the drought, but critics of Hugo Chavez say poor infrastructure planning has contributed to the conditions.

A federal indictment released yesterday told the grim details of a Sunni Muslim who repeatedly used rhetoric to incite Muslims to seize power with violence, establish Shariah Law, take over the United States government and establish a society “where Muslims would rule over non-Muslims.”  The leader of the group, Luqman Ameen Abdullah is quoted in the indictment as saying, “we got to take out the U.S. government.”  Remember that last month a Jordanian Muslim was arrested for a terror plot in Dallas and, in Afghanistan, a U.S. serviceman was shot for drinking water during Ramadan.  Religion of peace indeed.

UN: Global Currency Should Replace Dollar

Another small step toward a one-world government if you ask me. The UN Conference on Trade and Development recently remarked that the currencies and capital rules that bind the world’s economy are not working and was largely responsible for the financial and economic crisis. They continued to say that the current system should be subject to a wholesale reconsideration – a system under which the U.S. dollar acts as the reserve currency.

‘Million Dollar’ Gospel Tracts Trial Begins

A federal trial in Dallas began yesterday between the federal government and Darrel Rundus with his Great News Network ministry seeking the return of some 8,000 tracts confiscated during a Secret Service raid in 2006, which was conducted – according to the article – without a warrant. The federal government insists the tracts violate federal counterfeiting laws. Rundus contents the million dollar bill gospel tracts are highly effective and that no one would confuse them with real paper currency as each has the words, “this bill is not legal tender, ” in addition to other terms that separate them from real currency.

Liberal Talkers Invoke Jesus When Convenient

Ed Shultz, of MSNBC’s “The ED Show,” told viewers on September 2nd that he believed Jesus would vote for a government public option with regard to health care reform. I’m in agreement with Michelle Malkin’s comments (link to her blog below) when she asks where is the outrage from the anti-“theocracy” crusaders now? The liberal mantra in the United States over the last 40 years has been to remove God from schools and from government property. Now they want to use Jesus’ name when its convenient for them. Jesus told us you can’t serve two masters.

Edit:  added link to a video from August 13th when Ed Shultz, during the opinion piece of his show, calls out Christian leaders on their silence around health care reform.  Here’s the link to the video:
