Gay Marriage Defeated in Maine

The referendum on the ballot during yesterday’s vote in the state of Maine to allow same-sex marriage was defeated by a majority vote of 53% against.  As I read the article linked below, I saw references to “equality” when discussing one’s desire to marry someone of the same sex.  There is no real equality in this issue; only special rights are desired to be won.  Today, everyone has the exact same right, and that is to marry someone of the opposite sex.  Those in the gay/lesbian/transgender/bi-sexual crowd want special rights to bring official recognition to their deplorable lifestyles, which are abominations before the Lord (Romans 1:26-27).  One interesting note, and this gives me hope that America won’t go down without a fight:  the article says in all states that have had a referendum vote on same-sex, it has failed — 30 states in all.  The only states that have approved same-sex marriage are those in which it was not approved by popular vote.

‘Christmas’ Cut from Tree in Kentucky

The secular waves of America are now washing over the shore.  Governor Steve Beshear has determined that the evergreen tree to be used for decoration at the Capitol lawn this year won’t be called a Christmas tree but, instead, a “holiday tree.”  An administration spokesperson said the decision was made to be inclusive of Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year’s.  I’m surprised he didn’t throw a Muslim holiday in there, too.  The really sad thing is that the anti-theists in office aren’t capable of reading or understanding the Constitution of the United States, which declares freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.

NBC to air ‘Law and Order’ Abortionist Murder Episode

Much like the real-life drama that unfolded over the church murder of abortionist George Tiller this past summer, NBC is set to air an episode of “Law and Order” that carries a very similar premise: an abortionist is gunned down in church. And while the episode is supposed to give airtime to both sides of the abortion debate, I find it tasteless of NBC to carry such an episode. As if there wasn’t enough finger-pointing and, ultimately, plenty of bad publicity for Christians in America (a church is a church is a church to those who do not know God’s word), the airing of this type of scenario on television is just stirring the pot, in my opinion.

Christian Pastor in India Beaten by Hindu Extremists

Most of us here in America have it pretty easy when it comes to being a Christian, but there are some across the globe that are going through devastating persecutions not too far different from Paul as recorded in the book of Acts. A Christian pastor in Madhya Pradesh, India, was beaten unconscious and had part of his ear chewed off by a group of Hindu extremists. Pastor Paasu Ninama said that the six attackers lured him in a house with the offer of water after returning home from his Sunday service. Once inside, the men violently attacked him with wood until he was unconscious then one of the men bit off part of his ear.

Wanted to share some great articles from across the blogosphere with you all today so you can read some other Biblically-sound ideals today.

From Political Pistachio: Humans on Earth: 6,000 Years? Or Millions? The evidence may surprise you! (Hint: the Bible is a much more believable than the evolutionary thought.)

From Christians Against Leftist Heresy: Are Evangelical Churches Drifting Left? From what I’ve seen of some of the larger so-called evangelical leaders in the United States, I’d have to agree with this blog post.

From The End Time: The Rich Have Stolen the Economy. Economic disparity continues between the rich and the poor. The rich get richer and the newly unemployed joins together with the already unemployed, which is reaching nine million.

From The Future History: US Gov’t Agrees to Al Queda Terms. A headline of the future? Larry outlines a scenario that is eerily possible in America’s future.

Magazine Awards Obama Idolatry

The idol worship of Barack Obama has sunk to new lows. While many proclaimed Obama to be a “messiah,” during his presidential campaign, the Magazine Publishers of America has created a new annual award to further drag the country into the idolatry surrounding the current President of the United States: Best Obama Magazine Cover. The winner was Rolling Stone, who portrayed Obama with “quiet charisma” on its cover last July. So charismatic is Obama, in fact, that he has already called for global financial regulations, a world order and condemned those who hold to “old values” about homosexuality. I suppose he’s only an idol if you believe in big government and don’t cling to your Bibles.

Former Muslims Group Speaks Out on Eve of Islam March

A group of ex-Muslims have banded together and implored the Department of Justice to protect the rights and safety of ex-Muslims in America from the ravages of Sharia law. Sharia law requires that those who have left the Islam religion be executed. There have been several examples in the recent news of Muslim aggression. A Muslim man killed his wife, citing justification in the Koran. Military personnel were shot by a recent Muslim convert. Hindus were massacred by Muslims and a Dubai bank has forced non-Muslim women to wear shailahs and abayas. Oh, and don’t forget about the U.S. serviceman who was shot for drinking water during Ramadan.

Lutheran Bishop Warns to Not Withhold Tithes in Protest

Bishop Mark Hanson, the presiding bishop over the nation’s largest Lutheran denomination, has called for members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America to not withhold donations to protest the recent acceptance of non-celibate gay and lesbian leaders into the clergy. Hanson fears a funding shortage would hurt the church’s mission. I think if the ELCA would preach the whole gospel instead of making exceptions to the inspired word of God, their members may not want to withhold their contributions.

Obama Calls for a World Order

With recent calls for one-world governments by Pope Benedict and over 50 heads of state, it should be of no surprise that President Obama has now called for one at the United Nations today. In his speech, Obama remarked, “In an era where our destiny is shared, power is no longer a zero-sum game. No world order that elevates one nation or group of people over another will succeed. That is the future America wants.” How quickly do you think the sovereignty of the United States will be handed over to, and controlled by, a U.N. charter for global governance?

Tricked by a Teacher

Could your child be tricked into giving away your Bibles? The Persecution Blog (link to full story below) has a powerful story that was communicated down from an elderly woman in North Korea. It’s a very sobering read that makes you ponder the God-less education system in place in America, and around the world, today.
