Planned Parenthood Abortion Quotas?

I’ve known for years that Planned Parenthood conducted some legal, but very morally sketchy procedures in their nationwide offices.  After reading this article, they’ve fallen to the bottom of my list of worst organizations.  The former Planned Parenthood director who quit after viewing an abortion through an ultrasound has spoken out about her former employer, saying to WorldNetDaily that she was pressured to meet abortion quotas, to keep her numbers high, and she even pressured her employees to meet abortion goals as well.  To increase revenue, according to Abby Johnson, more abortions were performed and even chemical abortions were performed during the week.

West Africa Looks to Make Abortion Legal

Ministers from 15 West African countries are calling for the legalization of abortion.  The statement, submitted by the Health Ministers from the Economic Community of West African States said the member states could make abortion “safe” by legalization.  Their claim is that illegal abortions have contributed to high maternal mortality rates.  I suppose they’re not aware of the Montreal woman that nearly died after a botched abortion, the woman who was rushed to the hospital after an abortion and how a second abortion increases risk of premature birth by 93%.

Pro-Lifer’s Jesus Picture Confiscated by Police

A pro-life sidewalk counselor in Rockford, Illinois, sought assistance from Rockford police to remove a sacrilegious display from an abortion clinic, citing an ordinance, instead found himself a victim of confiscation. Kevin Rilott says in the article that a police officer took offense to the picture of Jesus that he was carrying instead, after having not found any material inside the abortion clinic. Rilott was asked by the officer to turn off his video camera and, when he complied, the police confiscated his picture of Jesus. Rilott also notes that local police have been less-than-helpful to sidewalk counselors and in past occasions when they were being assaulted, it took police from 20 minutes to one hour to respond to calls for assistance.

Montreal Woman Nearly Dies After Botched Abortion

Another week, another emergency following a botched abortion at a clinic. In Montreal, Canada, a 19-year-old woman almost died after having an abortion performed during the second trimester. The woman, who was three months’ pregnant, had an abortion conducted at 9:00 AM last Thursday, after which she experienced heavy bleeding but was sent home from the clinic anyway. Then she and her boyfriend drove to a hospital about 45 minutes away, where she received an emergency operation and a blood transfusion and was told by hospital staff that she may have died had she arrived five minutes later. Again, I thought the legalization of abortion was to prevent deaths from back alley abortions and for so-called “women’s rights”?

Woman Rushed to Hospital After Botched Abortion

Hasn’t the push for abortion been about supposed womens’ rights and caring for their health? A Planned Parenthood facility in California has had its third women in three weeks rushed to the hospital after an apparent botched abortion requiring immediate medical assistance. Wasn’t the other premise of legalized abortions so that women could go to a “safe” facility and have abortions rather than the back-alley methods?

Teenager Accused of Spiking Drink to Force Abortion

A Pennsylvania teen has been accused of spiking his girlfriend’s drink to cause an abortion. The 17-year-old teen, unnamed in the article, laced his girlfriend’s drink on March 31st with a stolen bovine drug used to induce abortions in cows, an idea given to him by friends. The teen has entered a guilty plea to attempted third-degree murder and aggravated assault. Just as was prophesied in the New Testament, the love of many will wax cold in the last days.

Second Abortion Increases Risk of Premature Babies by 93%

A new Canadian study has found that women who undergo more than one abortion face a 72% increased risk of babies with low birth weight and a 93% risk of prematurity. However, the lead author of the study, Dr. Prakesh Shah, doesn’t feel abortions should be banned but that the solution is to improve abortion techniques.

New York Clinic Targets Gender-Based Abortions

What a sad, sad day for America. A New York-based abortion clinic is now targeting residents of Britain that want to choose to continue a pregnancy or abort the child based on the gender of the fetus. The procedure, called pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, which is illegal in Britain, is typically used to determine genetic defects but can also be used to determine gender. Jeffrey Steinberg, who opened the clinic in January, told the London Times that half of those who visit his office attend for potential gender-selection abortion and are from the United Kingdom.

Pregnancy Gender Test Causes Worry Over Abortion

A new early pregnancy gender test kit that went on sale in Australia last month has some worried that the device, sold for about $125, could lead to abortions based on the gender of the unborn.  The test works like a pregnancy test and can determine the unborn child’s gender as early as eight weeks after conception.
