Dengue Fever Expands in Cape Verde

Not only has there been an outbreak of the swine flu in Cape Verde since June 2009, but now the area has a serious outbreak of dengue fever. As of October 28th, the Ministry of Health has reported 3,367 suspected cases of the disease on four islands: Brava, Maio, Santiago and Fogo. The virus has been confirmed by the first samples taken to the laboratory. This is the first outbreak of dengue fever in Cape Verde.
