Uzbekistan Christians Arrested

Christians belonging to the registered Donam Protestant church in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, had their church service raided on August 23rd by more than 20 police officers, citing an “unauthorized” service. Three men were released but four were sentenced to 15 days in prison, including the pastor, Vladimir Tyo. They have been charged with “violation of the procedure for organizing and conducting meetings.” All literature confiscated during the raid was ordered to be destroyed by the judge.
